About Alexis

Alexis Schmitz is a teacher with over 20 years experience, whose educational philosophy focuses on learning through creativity and exploration. Alexis has written curriculum for elementary school, contributed to educational magazines, and is a parent to four children, whom she homeschooled for many years. Alexis loves intriguing stories, exploring nature, and making things. She lives on the coast of Central California where, in her free time, she can often be found doing her own favorite type of sleuthing – tidepooling.
